Bushcraft foraging and tasting

Last week we headed out to find out about foraging. This week we’ve had chance to forage and then try some of the food!
We talked about how important it is not to pick plants you don’t know or eat anything that hasn’t been washed.
The children then had chance to go off in groups to find and identify dandelions, wild garlic and nettles. We had little signs to label these plants when we found them.

We then had the opportunity to taste the wild garlic and some washed nettles (washing them looses the sting!) A very tasty treat to try.
